OUR ETHOS
NAUTRA exists to connect people to the ocean through what they wear.
Inspired by marine life & made using recycled materials, our designs turn waste into something meaningful — fostering a community of ocean advocates through awareness and action.
SUSTAINABILITY
Our garments are made using recycled materials, including end-of-life fishing nets and post-consumer plastic. These materials are collected before entering the ocean and given a second life as high-performance fabrics. By repurposing existing waste, we reduce landfill impact, limit pollution, and decrease the demand for virgin resources.
Recycled materials require up to 45% less energy to produce than virgin alternatives, helping reduce overall environmental impact and reliance on new crude materials. We design thoughtfully at every stage — balancing performance, longevity, and impact.
Sustainability also means making less, but better. We focus on small-batch production and considered collections to avoid overproduction and unnecessary waste. By designing versatile, long-wear pieces, we encourage a more mindful approach to consumption — where quality replaces quantity.
OCEAN-FRIENDLY PRACTICES
We believe that meaningful change starts with understanding. At NAUTRA, education is at the heart of how we protect the ocean — helping people learn about marine life, ecosystems, and the challenges our seas face. By sharing knowledge, stories, and science-led insight, we aim to turn curiosity into care, and care into action.
Our BE THE WAVE platform is where education meets inspiration. It’s a growing hub of marine species stories, ocean literacy, and practical ways to advocate for the ocean — designed to empower people to become informed ocean advocates. Every piece we create is part of that conversation, carrying stories that reach beyond the garment itself.
The ocean shapes everything we do — from the species that inspire our designs to the stories we choose to tell. By highlighting marine life through our collections, we aim to spark connection, conversation, and a deeper respect for the sea. Wearing NAUTRA is an invitation to carry the ocean’s story — and help protect what inspires it.
LONG-LASTING DESIGNS
We design garments with longevity at their core. By creating pieces made to last, we encourage fewer replacements and longer wear, supporting a more mindful approach to consumption.
We work exclusively with trusted, ethical manufacturing partners who uphold fair wages, safe working conditions, and responsible production standards. Ensuring our values extend beyond materials to the people who make our garments.
NAUTRA designs are built for days that flow between sea, shore, and everyday life. Each piece balances performance, comfort, and durability — made to be worn, re-worn, and lived in, season after season.
